We’re Trying Something New in 2008 . . .

Minnesota Women Lawyer’s Annual Meeting
Splits Into Two Fabulous New Events

(Why get together just once, when we can get together twice??)

MWL is pleased to announce that its Annual Meeting, typically held in late spring each year, will take the new form of two separate events
in 2008.
“We hope this change to the MWL events schedule will provide ample opportunity for our members to celebrate
and connect with one another,” states 2007-2008 MWL President Kari Jensen Thomas.  “Our Winter Celebration in
February brought MWL members and the MN legal community together for a fun-filled evening and chance to raise
money for our newly created law student scholarship fund.  Our spring business meeting will give us a chance to reflect on the
past year, welcome the new slate of leaders and recognize our award recipients.”

Each event is highlighted below:

MWL’s 2008 Winter Celebration
Similar in format to past annual meetings, the 2008 Winter Celebration was held on Tuesday, February 12th, 2008.  It was our premier networking event of the year, complete with dinner and a keynote address.
MWL was pleased to welcome Jan Crawford Greenburg as its 2008 Winter Celebration keynote speaker.  Jan Crawford Greenburg is a correspondent for ABC News who covers law and politics for World News Tonight, Nightline, Good Morning America, and This Week with George Stephanopoulos.  She is also the author of “Supreme Conflict: The Inside Story of the Struggle for Control of the United States Supreme Court.”

In true MWL style, this event continued to provide our members and guests with an opportunity to hear from speakers who are current trendsetters, both in and out of the legal community.  We also featured a silent auction, to help support MWL’s newly created law student scholarship fund.  And, as with all MWL events, the 2008 Winter Celebration provided the chance to reconnect with old MWL friends, and meet a few new ones too.

MWL’s 36th Annual Meeting (Thursday, May 15th, 2008)
In its newly revamped format, MWL’s 36th Annual Meeting will offer an opportunity to focus on a topic we really like:  US!
We’ll take a look at the past year and at the year ahead; we’ll elect our new board of directors; and we’ll honor our 2008 Annual Award
recipients.  We hope you’ll join us to celebrate our past accomplishments and plan our future successes.

SAVE THE DATE: MWL's 36th Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 15th at Windows on Minnesota
(IDS Tower 50th Floor, 80 South 8th Street in MInneapolis).  Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at 12:00 noon.
The program will conclude by 1:30 p.m.
