Meet the women attorneys of the ADC Telecommunications Law Department: 

Laurie Dechery is a commercial lawyer at ADC, and she focuses her practice on licensing and software issues.  Laurie enjoys the fast-paced environment and variety of her practice.  Laurie’s family includes husband, Laurent, sons Joseph, 11, and Quentin, 15, and Tibetan terrier, Kitzi.  Prior to joining ADC in 2000, Laurie practiced intellectual property and information technology law at Leonard, Street and Deinard.  Laurie received her J.D from the University of Minnesota Law School, her M.A. in English from Harvard, and her B.A. from the State University of New York (Buffalo).  She enjoys reading and downhill skiing.  

Laurie Willard Olson joined ADC in 1999, after 2 years at Jackson Lewis, and 7 years at Cosgrove, Flynn, where her practice was litigation.  Laurie enjoys the opportunity to deliver preventive legal services.  A native of Fairmont, Minnesota, Laurie received her B.S. from Winona State, and her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.  Laurie enjoys reading and is very active in volunteer work.  Laurie, her husband, Brad, and red cat, Sammy, are expecting their first baby in October.  Laurie’s most thrilling moments as a trial lawyer were when she really connected with the jury.  Her life-long dream?  To be an elementary school teacher! 

Annick De Waele speaks 5 languages and frequently travels Europe and the world for ADC.  As ADC’s only European attorney, she has a big responsibility.  Annick joined ADC in 1999, in its Belgium office.  Prior to joining ADC, Annick worked with the Puratos Group, and at a law firm in Belgium.   Annick earned a degree in commercial law from Universite Libre de Bruxells, in Brussels, and her law degree from Rijksuniversiteit in Ghent, Belgium.  She enjoys mountain biking, attending the cinema, and visiting the many fun sites in Brussels. 

Toni Halleen joined ADC in 1997, and has been its manager of employment law.  Prior to joining ADC, Toni practiced at Briggs and Morgan for 8 years.  Toni has been an adjunct instructor at William Mitchell.  She received her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, and her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College.  Toni has a 7-year old son, Branch.  Toni performs improvisational comedy with a local troupe, Three Months to Live (www.3MTL.com) and also teaches improv to managers and others who need to “think on their feet.”  Toni is leaving ADC to join the General Counsel Ltd., (www.gcl.com), which provides part-time in-house legal services to businesses.
