MWL's 2010 Annual Awards

resented at MWL's 38th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, May 12th, 2010.

Myra Bradwell Award
Presented to an MWL member who expresses the highest ideals of the legal profession and who possesses the qualities exemplified by Myra Bradwell such as courage, perseverance, and leadership on issues of concern to women. 

The 2009 Myra Bradwell Award was presented to Lisa Montpetit Brabbit, Assistant Dean for External Relations at the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
 

Leadership Award
In 1992, Minnesota Women Lawyers established its Leadership Award to recognize legal employers throughout the state that strive to enhance the status, influence and effectiveness of women lawyers in their employ. 

The 2009 Leadership Award was presented to the law firms of Dorsey & Whitney LLP; and MacKenzie & Gustafson Ltd. 
 

Equal Justice Award
All Minnesota Law Students are invited to submit articles or essays they have written on a topic involving equal justice. 

The 2009 Equal Justice Award was presented to KrisAnn Norby-Jahner, a Hamline University School of Law student, for her paper entitled “Minor” Online Sexual Harassment and the CDA § 230 Defense: New Directions for Internet Service Provider Liability


Service to MWL Award
The Service to MWL Award, in its sixth year, was created to recognize the MWL member, group of members or 100% club member whose efforts during the past program year have contributed substantially to advance MWL's mission. 

The 2009 Service to MWL Award was presented to Debra Pexa, Executive Director of Minnesota Women Lawyers.
