On Thursday, March 13th, 2008, women representing a dozen women’s professional associations and organizations will gather at The Metropolitan Ballroom (5418 Wayzata Blvd. / Hwy. 394 & Hwy. 100) in Golden Valley for the annual Joint Dinner of Women’s Professional Associations. For over twenty years, this event has provided a unique opportunity for professional women to network, learn more about each other’s careers and celebrate women in the workforce. The 2008 Joint Dinner Planning Committee is pleased to welcome Dr. Verna Cornelia Price as our keynote speaker. Dr. Cornelia Price is president and principal consultant for J. Cameron & Associates and JCAMA Publishers. Her work focuses on creating programs and processes which increase organizational effectiveness and individual performance. Dr. Cornelia Price has custom-designed a multiple intelligence approach to leadership and the role of personal power in the workplace. In addition, she has created a Power of People Professional Development Process™ which combines organizational consulting, executive coaching, and customized seminars with motivation as a core strategy for organizations seeking to increase employee effectiveness, morale, and productivity. Her career includes work with Pre-K - 16 education, not-for-profits, corporations and universities. As the Director of First Year Experience and Leadership, she co-founded a multidiscipline academic minor in leadership for undergraduate students at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Cornelia Price is also an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and a Leadership Institute faculty member at The College of St. Catherine. Dr. Cornelia Price is also a motivational speaker and author of The Power of People: Four Kinds of People who Can Change Your Life, a book that empowers and equips individuals with strategies for discovering their personal power and pursuing excellence. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Adminstration from the University of Minnesota. She is married to Shane Price and is the mother of three. Proceeds from the Joint Dinner of Women Professional Associations benefit the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of Minnesota women and girls. The agenda for the 2008 Joint Dinner includes: registration and reception beginning at 5:00 p.m.; dinner service at 6:30 p.m.; and program at 7:15 p.m. Seating is available on a first come basis.
