CLE and Reception at the MSBA Convention

In its inaugural year, the MWL Northeastern Chapter has coordinated a CLE and reception to be held at the MSBA convention in Duluth, June 14^th – 16^th.  Complete details and registration for the MSBA convention are available at www.mnbar.org. 

MWL CLE Seminar:  Compassionate Communication Skills for Attorneys

Have you felt frustrated or even shocked when a conversation breaks down despite your best efforts? Ever wonder what you could have done differently in that moment to influence a more constructive outcome?  We’ve all experienced breakdowns in communication and the escalating stress of difficult conflicts that can drain our energy, damage relationships and sometimes even make us question our career choice. 

In this CLE seminar, you will learn about Compassionate Nonviolent Communication (aka NVC). NVC is a way of giving and receiving respect using a specific language skill. Based on a simple 4-part model, it offers new tools and awareness that can transform the way we relate to ourselves and others, and by learning to constructively navigate conflict, which is often a challenging reality in the legal profession.

Seminar Speaker:
Ann Harrington holds a BS degree in Education and Masters degree in Speech/Language Pathology. In her 21 years of work as a speech /language pathologist, she has taught students of all ages in a variety of settings. She is also a Life Coach, inventor and communication consultant/facilitator/ trainer.

The MWL Northeastern Chapter will host a reception immediately after the CLE seminar.  All MWL members are invited to attend.
