We trace our roots back to 1974 and in 1979, we were among the first law firms in central Minnesota to hire a female attorney. Vicki Landwehr was our first female attorney who practiced with the firm until she was a appointed to the District Court bench in Stearns County in 1994. The firm has had several female attorneys over its 34 year history and currently has a female partner, JoAnn Evenson, and associate, Julie Fisk. Over the years, our firm has had several opportunities to grow and expand into a much larger organization. However, we have chosen to maintain a size that is large enough to service the needs of our clients, yet small enough to develop personal relationships with our clients, staff and attorneys. We provide personalized attention to the legal and professional needs of our clients in a friendly environment. Our firm has a strong commitment to balancing work, family and community. In addition to their legal practice, the attorneys enjoy the flexibility to be devoted parents and grandparents and engage in activities as marathoners, Master Gardeners, hobby farmers, amateur gourmet chefs, quilters, amateur photographers and hunters. JoAnn Evenson helped establish the Central Minnesota Women Lawyers chapter and served on its first board of directors. JoAnn serves on the board of directors for St. Cloud Area Legal Services (Past President), Mid-Minnesota Legal Assistance and the Stearns/Benton Bar Association. She is the past Chairperson of the Trinity Lutheran Child Development Center Board. She is a member of the Forum of Executive Women, St. Cloud Westside Sertoma, Emerging Leaders Forum, John E. Simonett Inns of Court, Central Minnesota Women Lawyers, Minnesota Women Lawyers, the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Stearns/Benton Bar Association. Julie Fisk is a member of Central Minnesota Women Lawyers (Past Vice President), the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Stearns/Benton Bar Association. Neils, Franz & Chirhart P.A. is primarily a civil practice firm focusing in the areas of business, real estate, family law and estate planning.
