Meet Kari Jensen Thomas
MWL's 2007- 2008 President

Minnesota Women Lawyers is pleased to welcome our 36th president, Kari Jensen Thomas. "I am truly honored to have been selected to be the 2007-2008 President of Minnesota Women Lawyers.  This fine organization has been a part of my professional life over the past 12 years," remarked Thomas.

Kari is currently a Recruiting Manager for Leonard Street and Deinard, and has more than 12 years of legal recruitment and career coaching experience. She is primarily responsible for the recruitment of attorneys and law students; the management of the school year and summer law clerk and Minority Scholars programs; and leads the diversity recruitment and events sponsorship efforts at the firm. Kari is also involved in the conflicts review and ethical wall drafting process.

Prior to joining Leonard, Street and Deinard in 2004, Kari served as Associate Director of Career Services at William Mitchell College of Law. During law school, she was a winter law clerk at Leonard, Street and Deinard in addition to being a summer law clerk at a small law firm in South Dakota and another medium-sized local law firm. After graduating from law school, Kari clerked for a Hennepin County District Court Judge, managed West Bar Review in seven states and was the Marketing and Operations Director for a local legal placement company.

In 2003, Kari led the effort to create www.MNLegalDiversity.org as a volunteer with the Minnesota Minority Bar Summit.

We welcome Ms. Thomas and look forward to an exciting year here at MWL.
